Cosmetic Treatments

Botox® & Dysport®️

If the person in the mirror is starting to look tired and grumpy, Botox® & Dysport® treatments are a safe and effective solution for softening forehead lines, crow’s feet, or frown lines, minimising wrinkles and combating those signs of ageing.

At Cosmetic & Veins Clinic, our team works with you to achieve your optimal appearance, ensuring a natural look and helping you to feel at ease throughout the journey.

How Does it Work?

Our facial expressions, whether laughing smiling or frowning, are created by muscles moving beneath our skin. Over time, these repeated contractions cause wrinkles to develop. As we age and our bodies produce less collagen and elastin, these lines become more evident. ‘Anti-wrinkle’ injections, also known as Botox® are injected under the skin to temporarily reduce the activity of specific muscles, thereby inhibiting their movement.

This softens lines and wrinkles and gives skin a more youthful appearance.

Botox® & Dysport®️ Treatments

Botox® and Dysport®️ are naturally purified botulinum proteins that temporarily relax muscles.

Most commonly known as a way to soften wrinkles by relaxing the underlying facial muscles Botox® has been used for over 20 years, with over 10,000 published scientific studies confirming its safety and efficacy. It is a very safe, popular and effective treatment for wrinkles, and millions of treatments are performed worldwide every year.

In addition to reducing signs of ageing, botulinum treatments can also be used to treat neckbands, bruxism (teeth grinding), high gum lines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in the hands, feet and/or armpits), migraine headaches and many other conditions.

Both Botox®️ and Dysport®️ take 3-4 days to take effect, with full effects visible after 14 days. With the right skincare regime, skin texture can continue to improve beyond that.

Some Treatment Advice

Before Your Treatment

  • Plan Ahead: One of the great things about Botox® is that most individuals can return to their regular routines straight after the procedure.
  • Schedule Early: If you have a significant event planned, ensure you book your Botox® session at least two weeks in advance to fully benefit from the treatment’s effects.
  • Pre-Treatment Exercise: We advise refraining from intense physical activities for at least 24 hours after your treatment, so exercise beforehand.

After Your Treatment

  • Post-treatment, you might notice some redness or pinkness at the treatment site. This is a normal reaction and should subside within 15-20 minutes.
  • Please refrain from lying down, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for at least two hours afterwards. Bruising may occur on the treatment site.
  • Steer clear of alcohol and intense physical activity for at least 24 hours.
