Laser for Pigmentation (QSwitch)
The Q-switched laser is highly effective in removing unwanted pigmentation, emitting brief bursts of energy that penetrate the skin’s surface layers without causing harm and specifically targeting and absorbing the irregular pigment.
How Does It Work?
Q-switched laser technology generates high-intensity, pulsed beams of light. These lasers produce extremely powerful pulses, each lasting only a billionth of a second. Because the energy interacts with the skin so briefly, Q-switched lasers are known for minimising damage to surrounding tissues and reducing the likelihood of unwanted side effects.
Common Uses for QSwitch Laser Pigmentation
- Pigmentation
- Epidermal Lesions
- Skin Rejuvenation
At Cosmetic & Veins Clinic, we offer Q-switched laser, specifically for skin pigmentation and laser toning.

Before Your Treatment
Prior to undergoing the procedure, it is strongly advised that patients refrain from sun exposure and using tanning beds.
After Your Treatment
Following the procedure, you might see slight redness in the treated area, which quickly subsides. There are no immediate visible changes to your skin, allowing you to resume your usual activities right away.
Initially, you might notice some darkening and scabbing in the treated regions. These effects are temporary, and within five to seven days, they will start to diminish. Let the scabs heal naturally without trying to remove them. The pigmentation will gradually lighten with each session, and typically, three to four sessions are needed to significantly reduce most of the pigment.
How Many Laser Treatments Are Needed?
The optimal number of Q-switched laser treatments needed can differ. Factors such as the specific condition and the size of the area being treated influence the number of sessions needed.
Schedule a session with one of our skilled laser therapists at Cosmetic & Veins Clinic to tailor a treatment plan specifically for you. In your meeting, we’ll talk about your goals and preferences to develop a personalised treatment strategy.
